Questions to ask when editing

[ ] Is your name on your work?

[ ] Is the date on your work?

[ ] Do you have the proper heading?

[ ] Did you follow directions?

[ ] Is your work neat?

[ ] Do you have a topic sentence?

[ ] Do you have 3 or 4 supporting / detail sentences?

[ ] Do you have an ending sentence?

[ ] Did you read your work aloud to see that it makes sense?

[ ] Does each sentence begin with a capital letter?

[ ] Do other proper nouns need capital letters?

[ ] Does each sentence end with the correct punctuation?

[ ] Is each word spelled correctly?

[ ] Is each sentence a complete thought?

[ ] Are any other punctuation marks (quotes, commas) necessary?
