Introduction
This webquest was developed as part of the San Diego Unified School District's Triton Project, a federally funded Technology Innovation Challenge Grant. It was designed to assist in meeting the Scope and Sequence of the 5-8 social studies curriculum.
Student working as individuals or part of a team select an explorer from the resource list, complete an in-depth research component, and create a "chapter" to be included in their classroom reference book, Exploring Explorers. Students focus on the contributions make to the future by this explorer as they summarize why this explorer should be remembered.
