- The midwater zone has no surfaces, so all inhabitants must remain suspended. How do the different species remain suspended?
- Based upon your knowledge of the animal kingdom, try and classify the animal life discovered by Deep Rover. Classify them by grouping like animals together. Take into account their physical appearance in the photograph and any information provided. Each classification should be justified in some manner. - Why is the transparent and gelatinous body form so common in the midwater zone?
- The siphonophore is not a single animal, but a colony of many. Each individual has a duty to perform to keep the complete organism going, what are these different duties? Why do you suppose each organism has specialized tasks?
