This Multimedia presentation utilizes Real Audio technology. If you haven't already, you need to install Real Audio on your computer and the place plugin in your Netscape Plugin folder. If you choose not to do this process, you may still use this educational resource by not clicking on the Real Audio icons found on each page.
This is an easy process, please follow these simple instructions to add exciting sound to your Netscape Browser!
Instructions:
- Visit the Real Audio (linked right here!) web site and follow the directions there to download RealAudio Player 2.0 or 3.0 for your computer.
- Install the software onto your computer. Be sure to select your Netscape Plugins folder when it asks.
- Once you have restarted your computer after your successful installation you may begin the slide presentation.
- If you are installing RealAudio onto several machines, copy the installation program onto a disk or onto your server. This will save you time download the program for each computer station.
Things to take note of when using RealAudio:
- When you start to play a RealAudio file you will download a file that leads RealAudio to the actual sound file. One way to avoid cluttering your desktop (there are 54 slides) is to change where Netscape saves the files it downloads.
- To do this select Options on your Menu Bar,
- drag down to General Preferences and
- elect the Applications section.
- Change the Temporary Directory to a folder of your choice (one called Downloads located on your hard drive would be appropriate).
- Remember with RealAudio you can listen to each section of audio as many times as you would like.
- Enjoy yourself, you are participating in cutting edge internet technology!
