Unfortunately, there is a virus that has spread throughout the labs at SDSU and Dana Center and may have been transmitted by your zip disks to any computers at home or school, including your brand new G3. It is called Autostart 9805 and infects Quicktime 2.1 and later. Don't worry, it will do no serious damage if you take care of it now and it is easily preventable.
Getting Rid of the Virus
Option 1
If you own Virex or SAM anti-virus software make sure you have latest update. You can download those updates from the company sites:
Option 2
There is a free program called Eradicator that will search and destroy the Autostart 9805 virus only. All you have to do is download the file and run it on your system.
With either option you will want to make sure you delete (not repair) any infected files.
Please Note: The popular program Disinfectant is no longer being updated. If you have been using this program you should note that it will not find the Autostart 9805 virus or any of the Microsoft macro viruses.
Prevention...
Once you have eliminated the bad virus or want to prevent it from infecting your computer you can easily protect yourself from future problems with this specific virus. This will not eliminate the virus if you already have it!

You should now be free of the AutoStart 9805 virus. For more information about the virus you can check out the following sites:
