Using Claris Home Page Tutorial

Linking to a Local Page

Chances are your web site will have more than one page linked together. You have already learned to link to web pages elsewhere on the Internet, but what about pages found in the same folder? Or even the same computer?

Once again Home Page has made this quite easy on you, providing a simple interface to complete this action.

1. Make sure you have two pages to link together, they should be located either in the same folder or both are located within your main folder that will be later uploaded.

2. Now find the Link Editor button on the menu bar and click on it.

3. Click on the Browse Files button on the Link Editor dialogue box.

4. Now, select the file you wish to link. More than likely you will already be in the target folder, but you may need to navigate to the file's exact location.

Select the file and hit open.

5. Don't be alarmed in a long name appears that includes weird symbols, etc. When you later consolidate your pages, Claris will check to make sure all local links are working.

If you are done with the Link Editor, just close it out and continue working.
