Using Claris HomePage Tutorial

Creating Bulleted and Numbered Lists

One of the useful characteristics of Claris Home Page is the ability to create bulleted and numbered lists easily.

1. Click your mouse where you want your list to begin. If you are titling the list, type in the heading and hit the return key.

2. Go to the Paragraph Format box (indicated by the cursor). This allows you to change the format of the text.

3. Click and hold on the text control box. Move the cursor down to either bulleted or numbered list and release the mouse.

4. Now you can type out your list, hitting return after each item.

Please note: If you are typing a numbered list, number signs (#) will appear. Only when you preview in Netscape will the actual numbers appear.

5. To return to normal typing mode, hit return one more time (a single bullet or # sign will appear).

6. Click and hold on the Paragraph Format box and move the mouse back up to normal and release the mouse. The text cursor should return to the left hand margin.

Congratulations! You now know how to use one of the most frequently utilized features of the Internet. Here are a couple tips when using lists.

  1. If you want a space between your items, you must hit shift-return two times and then hit return once more. If you try just hitting return a couple times it will give you an empty bullet or number.
  2. If you later decide to add something to the middle of your numbered list, don't fret - just hit return where you want to add and type away. No need to renumber your list, Netscape will do this for you.
