Ms. O'Donnell's students at Roosevelt Middle School performed the skit from SALI Activity 13 and filmed by the teacher. The reason for putting this skit to film was to more thoroughly engage the students. Roosevelt has many English language learners in the school population and lengthy readings can be difficult to follow. By filming the skit and playing the movie for the class, the use of the students creativity and accents in the performance sought to engage the students much better. The teacher's initial speculation was that this version of the skit would engage the students more than just the reading and, in fact, that was the result that she found to be true.
